That's right more than a year after their performance in LA at Jrock Revolution girugamesh are making their return to the states to Sakura-Con in Seattle, Washington on April 10-12.

Info obtained from: http://jrockeventsusa.com/news.html and http://www.j-revolution.com/?p=1333

The info is not currently up on their myspace or OHP but it should be in the near future

Glad I got plenty of time to save money...

And in case anyone questions the authenticity of this information, here's an exact quote from the press release email (which is also on j-revolution, which Matt linked):

JapanFiles.com brings USA CD release of J-rock artists girugamesh + full digital catalog.

USA return performance scheduled for Sakura-Con 2009.

September 5, 2008 - Japanese hard-rockers girugamesh debut on JapanFiles.com today with their full catalog available for legal digital download. Albums include: "Reason of Crying," "13's Reborn," and "Girugamesh."

Plus - the band's latest CD "Girugamesh" will be available at Hot Topic stores at the end of September. The USA release of this CD contains the exact same cover art and booklet as the Japanese version, and will be available for under $15.00.

Formed in 2004, girugamesh made their USA debut at 2007's JRock Revolution event in Los Angeles, CA, which also featured artists such as Miyavi, D'espairsRay, alice nine, and MUCC. In 2008, the band has been performing non-stop, bringing their "Stupid" tour to fans in Japan and Europe.

girugamesh will return to the USA in April, 2009 for Sakura-Con 2009 in Seattle, WA.

girugamesh is:
Vocals - Satoshi
Guitar - Nii
Bass - ShuU
Drums - Яyo

girugamesh appears on JapanFiles.com by arrangement with MAVERICK/DANGER CRUE.

I just want to tell everyone this so noone gets screwed.

I've been to Sakura Con before, I went to see m.o.v.e in 2007. Sakura Con usually gives out wrist bands to fans who stay IN THE CON HOTELS (meaning Sheraton, Red Lion, Crowne Plaza or Hyatt) and those with wrist bands are admitted into the concert hall first. Also, they will only give out FOUR wristbands per room, so if you have five people in your room who want to go to the concert someone's going to get cut short.

Unless they've changed this, which I doubt they have, that's how it goes. Just thought I'd give everyone a heads up.

I will :) I'll keep my eye on the SC site to see if the same rules will be applying this time around.

Me too ;; If it doesn't happen soon, I plan on calling them. I want to get this sorted out ASAP so I know how many rooms need to be booked. If I remember right they didn't announce the wristband bullcrap until like two months before the con in 07.

Looks like it! I just named off those four because they were on the con hotels I remembered from 2007 xD Looks like the con's grown a lot since 07... o_o;

The hotels posted on the site are the official convention hotels, yes. They are subject to change as contracts do from year to year, and we only get them up on the site when ink's dry and we web folk are notified of the convention-discount codings and rates. ^_^

Wow, that's kinda irritating. Since I'd never stay in a hotel since I freaking LIVE here. D: Stupid cons.
Tuesday, September 9th, 2008 ( 15:19 ) (UTC)
Just for clarification, that was the setup for the concerts that year (2007) only. In 2008 we didn't do that; 2009 *may* be the same easier first-come-first-served style (I'm not in that department for clarification this early, though). But yes, check the site to be sure; info is posted when finalized and approved by department heads, so certain details may be too late for pre-registration choices. But there may also be discussion in the forums. ^_^

And as mentioned already, hotel managements have requested/stipulated our policy of no more than four adults in the rooms... the "four wristbands" idea that year was also an attempt at an extra reminder of that.
